GDP Win Max: The World’s Smallest Gaming Laptop
When you think Gaming laptops, you think big, bulky, heavy
pieces that seldom feel like manual labor. You think of Acer Predator sequence
PCs or HP Omen sequence PCs, none that are easy to look at or hold. But what if
there was a much sleeker alternative that existed and provided just the same
performance? A dream, you’d say. Well, dream no more, as we came across the
most compact gaming laptop to have existed.
Shenzhen-based GamePad Digital (GPD) Technology Co. Ltd.,
manufactures the GPD Win Max and enlists it as a one handheld gaming console,
the latest addition to their handheld series. But the advertising isn’t very
justified, as it might be handheld, but it isn’t certainly a “console.” GPD Win
Max is a gaming laptop and justifiably comes with a built-in controller along
with a full-fledged keyboard, plus the trackpad.
The World’s Smallest Gaming Laptop
GPD aims at developing transportable laptops for the
on-the-go consumer, and making one for gaming is a tall task. The laptop is
tough on the outside with an aluminium cowl and an aviation-grade anti-shock
ABS artificial resin. The laptop was given twin desktop-grade cooling followers
with two cooling pipes, as thermal administration was a contentious
issue.

It has a 10nm Intel 10-gen Ice Lake-U CPU with the Intel
11th-gen Iris Plus 940 GPU. It contains a 512GB SSD plus all the different
ports to attach external devices. The machine comes with an 8-inch H-IPS show
with a 180-degree hinge design so that handheld gaming is a fruitful experience
and not a gimmick.
Integrated Controller Setup
When it comes to handheld gaming, the gaming controller
arrangement is a highlight. They are current on every higher corner. On the
higher left nook, you’ll find a 4-way D-Pad and an analog stick, while the
higher proper nook contains the default ABXY buttons along with an analog
thumbstick. With this, the computer also has L1-L2, and R1-R2 set off buttons
placed at the higher edges.
The Controller
The built-in controller setup will allow users to play video
games without the infamous gaming mouse, or a flowery RGB keyboard
Currently, GPD Win Max is still on a crowdfunding platform.
As the marketing campaign comes to an end in 3-4 days, we don’t expect it to
stay there for long. If you’re gunning for the smallest laptop for gaming, it
might just become yours for the competitive price.
