Windows 10: How to Set Up Bluetooth Devices
While we don’t use Bluetooth for sharing files and media like we earlier used to, it has started thriving in other areas like connecting wireless devices, which could be wireless headphones, speakers, cameras, and whatnot. With this new era that again requires an efficiently working Bluetooth, we are here to help you. In this article, you learn how to set up Bluetooth devices on your Windows 10 PC and manage them. Read on!
Setting Up the BluetoothIf your Windows 10 PC has built-in Bluetooth connectivity, then setting it up should be a breeze. All you need to do is open the All “Settings” menu, go to the “Devices” option, and then click “Bluetooth & other devices.” Otherwise, the alternate and quickest way is to click on the Bluetooth icon if available in your desktop’s notification area.
After the “Bluetooth & other devices” window comes up, slide the Bluetooth toggle switch to position. If this doesn’t work because of any reason, you may open the Device Manager. Here, you will find a list; scroll down to find and click the Bluetooth dropdown. Scan your Bluetooth drivers for any exclamation mark. If you find one, click on it to select “Update Driver,” or try to disable then re-enable and check if it’s working now.
Install and Manage Your Bluetooth Devices
After setting up your Bluetooth and other associated services, you are ready to install and manage your Bluetooth devices. By Bluetooth devices, we mean all those peripherals you are trying to connect to your computer wirelessly.
Start by switching on the scanning/pairing mode of the Bluetooth device that you want to connect. To do this, hold the pairing button for about ten seconds on the device, and you will receive a pairing message. Now, go to the Settings menu, open Devices, and click on the “Bluetooth & other devices” option. Find the “Add Bluetooth or other devices” option; click on it, followed by “Bluetooth.” The device name will now appear in the list. If yes, then click on it to pair. If you are asked for the device’s code, then enter 0000.
If you have accidentally paired the device with another computer, you will need to remove the device from your computer and pair it with the one you want. To do so, select the device’s name in the Bluetooth devices list, then hit the “Remove device.” Once done, you can now pair this device to the desired computer using the instructions mentioned above.
While connecting devices via Bluetooth is a daily task for many people, they still find it overwhelming, given how many times you need to pair, unpair, and connect and reconnect. However, if you can learn the quick ways mentioned in this article, connecting to Bluetooth will become your next favorite task.
